Former Congresswoman, Candidate for U.S. Senate, Injured in Crash

Her remaining campaign events for the weekend were postponed.

Former U.S. Representative Mary Peltola of Alaska, who is currently running for the U.S. Senate against incumbent Daniel S. Sullivan, was in a car wreck over the weekend.

Authorities reported that Peltola and her family members were “transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.” The remainder of her campaign events for the weekend were postponed.

Her campaign manager said the former congresswoman and her family were in “good spirits.” However, “Per the advice of medical professionals, Mary’s upcoming events in Fairbanks and Bethel will be rescheduled for later in the week as she takes time to recover.”

The race for the Alaskan U.S. Senate has been complicated by a second Dan Sullivan (Daniel J. Sullivan) appearing on the ballot, and the current ranked-choice voting process.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For healing for Ms. Peltola and her family members, and wisdom for the medical team serving them.
  • For discernment for voters as they research candidates and cast ballots in the nation’s midterm elections.
